The treatment of bigger areas with 532 nm wavelength is simplified considerably by the use of a scanner. Operation of the ScanStar is straight-forward. The size, shape of the scanned area (square or rectangular), as well as the spacing of the spots can be adjusted directly on the scanner handpiece. An effective skin cooling like with the CoolStar is necessary to avoid undisirable side effects.
